31.Sainte Chapelle, Paris, France
A perfect Gothic-Rayonnant architectural relic, this royal chapel was built by Louis IX to house a fragment of Christ’s Cross and the Crown of Thorns.
32.Buen Retiro Park, Madrid, Spain
Enjoy a stroll at Madrid’s largest green area and relax at its stunning gardens, gaze at the scenic lakes, and meditate at the sound of its numerous fountains.
33.Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy
Architectural historians treat the long and narrow cortile (internal courtyard) of this 16th century building as the first streetscape of Europe.
34.Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia
The state halls interior of this splendid building are well preserved much like the way they were when Catherine the Great and the succeeding Romanovs still live there.
35.Alhambra Palace, Granada, Spain
Part fort, part palace, Alhambra is a magical place where fountains trickle and ancient spirits seem to linger. A historic monument of Granada and Europe’s love letter to Moorish culture.
as far as am concerned, Italy is always my number 1. i wish i was born in Italy. nice article tho
what an awesome piece. your hard work in putting this great piece together is highly appreciated. thanks!
this is really an eye opener. i would always come back to learn more. very informative!
the last I looked, Russia is not geographically located in Europe. but it is a nice place to be.
what a boring list. Europe itself is fucking boring
I disagree with #6 and you should replace them with fjords.
Yes! Finally someone writes about site.
I think Spain should not be here. i did not enjoy myself in that so called country.
nice blog, nice content but wrong method of posting articles. would have appreciated it if all was on a single page or at worst 2
Great list and many thanks for taking the time to put it together.
– the last I looked, Russia is not Europe, neither geographically, politically, nor culturally.
– some great places in this list indeed, but I’m surprised that none of the Norwegian highlights are in: fjords, Preikestolen, Kjeragbolten, Trolltunga… they beat many of the man-made sites in the list (and Norway is Europe) – so consider replacing the Russian sites with the Norwegians?
– I think Orsay museum should be replaced by Mont St Michel
In any case, I enjoyed looking through these.
Cheers
