35. Mesa Verde in Southwestern Colorado. 
Mesa Verde is the Spanish term for a green table. This also refers to the cliff dwellings of Ancestral Pueblo people, who made this hand-built structures their place of dwelling from AD 600 to 1300. There are about 5000 known archeological sites within the area, including the 600 cliff dwellings.
