31. The Wave, Utah.

The Wave is located on the Utah-Arizona border, which is halfway between Page, Arizona and Kanab, UT in the Paria Canyon/Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. It’s nothing like you have seen elsewhere. It’s a magnificent red sandstone formation that is accessible only with a pass that you have to purchase in advance through a lottery. Only 20 people foot traffic per day is allowed to preserve the present condition of the Wave. That means you have to compete with so many applicants before you can get a permit to pass it.

The Crystal Cave was formed as a result of its glacier meeting the Icelandic coastline. It is also called the Breiðamerkurjökull Ice Cave and is located in Vatnajökull National Park.
